The Roosevelt Neighborhood offers many diverse options from apartments and newer single family homes to offices, car dealerships, warehouses and older single family homes. Located at the base of Alabama Hill, Alabama Street runs through the center of this community. Many rental properties are typically available here.

Roosevelt Park offers a large open field, basketball courts and a playground for kids. Whatcom Falls occupies the southeast corner of the neighborhood with playgrounds,  miles of trails, trees and beautiful scenery for jogging, walking or riding bikes. Railroad trail is a 3.1 mile trail also great for biking, jogging or walking that runs from Memorial Park to Lake Whatcom.

Elementary students living in the Roosevelt Neighborhood attend either Roosevelt, Northern Heights or Sunnyland Elementary School. Students on the south side of Alabama Street fall within the Kulshan Middle School and Bellingham High School attendance areas. Students north of Alabama Street and west of Woburn are in the Shuksan Middle School attendance area and Squalicum High School. Students who live north of Alabama Street and east of Woburn fall within the Whatcom Middle School attendance area and Squalicum High School.
