The Sunnyland Neighborhood has an assorted mix of industrial, commercial and residential areas. It is centrally located with easy access to downtown and I-5 the main interstate running through Bellingham. The northern section of the neighborhood has several well maintained single family homes on small lots while other areas have homes that show signs of ageing and disrepair.. Many of the residents of the Sunnyland Neighborhood have lived there for years.

The industrial and commercial areas of the Sunnyland Neighborhood are north of Whatcom Creek and south of Ohio street. Sunset Square is located in the Sunnyland Neighborhood offering a pharmacy, banks, home improvement stores as well as restaurants and retail shops. Along James street you will find a plethora of delicious restaurants along with  Trader Joe’s Market and Youngstocks which offers fresh local produce.
